Soup Drops news

Depending on who you ask, there isn't anything as satisfying as indulging in a hot bowl of soup during a gloomy day or while sick. But Progresso has once again released soup-flavored hard candies.

In January 2025, the brand behind popular canned soups, broth and more released its first flavor of Soup Drops: chicken noodle.

The first batch of the candy, marketed as "soup you can suck on," sold out in under an hour, according to USA TODAY's reporting. The company released the candy weekly throughout January following its initial success.

However, on Thursday, Jan. 15, Progresso released new hard-candy flavors for soup lovers to enjoy, and the new batch "warms in your mouth," according to the packaging.

What will the new flavors be?

Progresso will be introducing two new flavors, according to a press release emailed to USA TODAY:

The popular Chicken Noodle Soup Drop will also return.

When will I be able to purchase the Progresso Soup Drops?

The Progresso Soup Drops will be available for purchase on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 9 a.m. ET and will be available for purchase on Walmart's website.

People who buy the product will receive a bundle pack that includes a can of Progresso Chicken Noodle Soup and a Progresso Soup Drops Variety Can, which contains all three flavors. It will retail for $2.97, about the price of a can of Progresso Soup.

After the initial release, Soup Drops will go on sale every Thursday throughout January, while supplies last, on Walmart's website.
